Collegiate Decathlon Record for Lindon Victor and SEC Championships 400-Meter Record for Fred KerleyBy Adam Kopet, DyeStat Editor The Texas A&M men had a big Friday with two record-breaking performances at the SEC Championships. It started with Aggie senior Lindon Victor. Competing in the decathlon, Victor broke the collegiate record for the second time this season, scoring 8,539 points. In the 21 years prior to 2017, the collegiate decathlon record was broken three times, making Victor's accomplishment all the more impressive. He still has another shot to do it again at the NCAA Outdoor Championships next month. In the 400 meters, Texas A&M senior Fred Kerley made a statement, breaking the SEC Championships record with a time of 44.09. The time equals the #17 all-time mark in the world as well as the US#11 all-time mark. It also places Kerley second on the collegiate all-time list behind Quincy Watts' 44.00 in 1992. More news |
